DESCRIPTION:This two-and-a-half-day seminar provides an overview of melting, refining, and solidification in stainless and specialty steel mills and foundries. The program will explore the fundamentals of specialty steelmaking technology, market applications of products, material selection, alloy chemistry, process cycles and safety. In addition, the seminar will cover the use of energy inputs, induction furnace steelmaking, electric arc furnace melting and fundamentals of steel refining: degassing, desulfurization, decarburization, vacuum oxygen decarburization, refractories, ingot casting and remelting.
