This seminar provides an in-depth overview of project development and management for both major capital and sustaining/maintenance projects in a heavy industrial environment with a particular focus on iron and steel facilities. All phases of project development will be covered, with an emphasis on key engineering documentation, plans and procedures for each phase with a significant focus on CAPEX development. A half-day practical exercise at the end of the course will provide attendees with a chance to put their new learnings into practice by further emphasizing key points. Example templates and deliverables will be provided for most of the sessions. The course will be taught by a variety of personnel from owners, engineering and project management firms, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and construction contractors. Attendees will leave this course with a set of tools needed to develop and manage both greenfield and brownfield projects and major maintenance outages.
